LACHARD ARTHUR BOOK

This project is a proposal for the IASS 2016 competition (Tokyo) designed with Arthur Wery. Dedicated to the Olympic stadium coverages systems, the purpose of the competition was, in addition to develop a coverage against noise and severe weather, a call for ideas for the development of the futur stadium shapes. Our intention was to comprehend the formal, economical and ecological aspects that a futur shape includes and the ideology appealed by the adjective  « futur ».
The futur resides in the present passions. It’s an imaginary continuity where past and novelty take place. For a « futur shape », our position was then, on the first hand, to evoke the timeless form of the dome an the millennial technic of the timber frame, and on the other hand, to produce composition inspired by the Penrose’s modern pentagonal pattern. The interest with the pentagonal form is that it’s used in a large range of icons and symbols and gives, with only one module, endless possibilities of patterns.
